Company Updates
Please be aware that the plugin is using the WP LinkedIn Advanced Templates to show the updates below. The default template that comes with the WP LinkedIn for Companies extension is more simple and only shows the text of the updates.

Hi,
i have purchaed wp-linked for companies .but when i used the comany updates shorcode with company .it shows only one update.why this is happening .i have 4-5 updates on company page
Hello,
It might be that your company updates are not all actual updates, job postings for example won’t appear in the shortcode unless you specify that you want job postings. However, a few people have had a similar problem, it’s coming from the LinkedIn API itself not from the plugin, you must report the issue on the LinkedIn developers’ forum: https://developer.linkedin.com/forums/rest
C.
I have news about that issue. It’s a limitation in the LinkedIn API that will show updates from the last 20 days only.
Hi, I have a few questions.
Can this be used to display the updates from a showcase page as opposed to a company page?
Can the number of updates shown be controlled?
Does it show the image from the update or just the text?
Does it show the whole update or just an extract?
Is it possible to show just the updates without all that information before it like you have in your demo (description, headquarters, etc)?
Thanks for your help,
Hi Charlotte,
Q. Can this be used to display the updates from a showcase page as opposed to a company page?
A. Yes, it normally can show Showcase pages, tho I did not tested it, you will need to find the page’s ID (normally in the URL) and use it in place of the Company ID in the shortcodes/widgets.
Q. Can the number of updates shown be controlled?
A. You can specify the maximum number of updates to show but the API only returns updates posted in the last 20 days.
Q. Does it show the image from the update or just the text?
A. The default template only shows the text and the link (if there’s one) but you can customize it to have the same kind of output as there is on LinkedIn.
Q. Does it show the whole update or just an extract?
A. See answer above.
Q. Is it possible to show just the updates without all that information before it like you have in your demo (description, headquarters, etc)?
A. That demo page demoes all the shortcodes from the plugin. Each section is output by a different shortcode. Only use the updates shortcode if you only want to display updates.

Could you please provide a link to see this plugin in action on a site?
Hi Logan, that page is the actual demo
Thanks – does it take up that much physical space? My client is looking for a LinkedIn widget similar to any Twitter Feed. Would you say this is a comparable choice?
Each section on that page is a different shortcode, you can check the documentation here: http://vedovini.net/downloads/wp-linkedin-co/
Hi Claude,
I am trying to setup the plugin to get company profile but it doesn’t return the products section.
As much as I know LinkedIn closes products section: https://business.linkedin.com/marketing-solutions/c/14/3/products-and-services-tab-retirement
Does your showcase demo taking the products from live LinkedIn page (https://www.linkedin.com/company/1337)? Possibly, the shortcode for products doesn’t work anymore?
Are you using the
[li_company_products]
? If yes, then may be you’re right and it’s not working anymore. May be you should transition to a showcase page for your products. In that case you can use the[li_company_profile]
with the ID of the showcase page and it should work. The same goes for updates. Thanks for your reply!
Do you mean that you use [li_company_profile] with the ID for each showcase separately? Don’t you know if there is a method to receive the all company’s showcase pages IDs via API if I am an admin of that company?
Yes, one shortcode for each showcase page. I don’t know if there’s a method to get showcase pages that you administer, you will have to check the LinkedIn documentation for that.
Thanks for prompt response! Will try to find it out
In addition to the content and link, can you when the update was published, as in “10 days ago” ?
You need to customize the templates to do that kind of things. Create a ‘linkedin’ folder under the ‘wp-content’ folder then copy the templates you want to modify from the plugin’s ‘templates’ folder then customize them.
Can you provide an example of what is shown using the [li_company_updates] shortcode? I’m very interested in the product, but need to see that it will show what we are looking for before purchasing.
I had to update that page to show updates for one of my pages but you can see now how it’s displayed by default. However, the template is fully customizable, you can pretty much do anything you want.
Hi Claude,
Is the API still limit the Company Updates to only the last 20 days?
Is the shortcode working for widget? As I need to place the company updates on the sidebar, something like a twitter feeds style.
There are still limitations. You can see the details here: https://developer.linkedin.com/docs/company-pages#company_updates
And if you want to place the company updates feed in a sidebar you don’t need to use the shortcode, just use the widget.
Got it.
Is the plugin compatible with WordPress 3.5.1?
Is the widget comes with styling options or colors? Or option to adjust width etc.
it should be compatible with 3.5 and up, yes.
there’s no option to adjust anything related to styling on the widget. The size adjust relative to the container. For the rest you use CSS or you customize the template that renders the updates
Hi, is this compatible with wp 4+? I see that it works with 3.5… please let me know.
yes it does, it requires 3.5 at minimum but it works with any version after that
How do we find the page ID ? My linkein page is: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/karen-pollitt-cham-a529506
And this is one of my posts: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/go-silicon-beach-we-love-you-karen-cham
So how do I find the ID? I want to display all my posts in my wordpress site.
Just go to the options page and there’s a list of the pages you have access to, with their ID
Will this plugin also show who has liked an update?
The default template doesn’t show that information. However, if the information is returned by the API (which is difficult to say à priori because the documentation is lacking) then you can customize the template to show it.
Hello,
Is possible show the updates from the profile (no company) ?
Thank you
Sorry, LinkedIn doesn’t allow access to network updates
Hi Claude,
I need to show LinkedIn company updates on a wordpress website.
LinkedIn has shut down their RSS feed on December. Is this still possible to display company updates with this plugin? Will this plugin work with latest wordpress version(4.9.8)?
Thanks
yes, that’s what this plugin is allowing you to do and it’s compatible with the latest versions of WordPress.
Hi, I would like to use your plugin but want to know can we display the company updates in a carousel format or horizontally instead of the vertical layout above? Are there other display options available on with the plugin?
Hi, you can customize the template to do pretty much whatever you want :)
Great thanks a lot for the help, I saw the plugin wasn’t updated for a year and was a little worried it was not being supported anymore. Your plugin seems like the only game in town when it comes to showing Company Updates so I was praying it worked properly
No need to repair something which is not broken, but if you have ideas for new features I am always listening :)
Hi,
Is it possible to use “WP LinkedIn for Companies” to show a company post feed on wordpress? Like you can do with Facebook and Instagram?
yes, that’s what it is for
Perfect, thank you! :)
Hi claude, did you test the plugin with WordPress version 5?
I didn’t run formal tests but I am pretty confident it works
